Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated at today's session of the Croatian Government that the arrest of 10 HVO members in Orašje has worried the Croatian public, reports Patria.
- The arrest and indictments against 10 HVO members from Orašje were certainly prepared for a longer time, and their timing is indicative - said the Prime Minister.
He added that he had instructed the ministries to obtain all necessary information and provide legal and consular assistance to the arrested Croatian citizens.
- We have informed our partners in the EU and NATO and expressed our concerns. I would like to send a clear message to the citizens that our Government will do everything to protect the legitimate interests of the Republic of Croatia, as well as human rights that could be threatened - emphasized the Prime Minister, adding that all crimes must be prosecuted regardless of ethnic affiliation.
- However, the concept of a joint criminal enterprise in the indictments is unacceptable for Croatia - emphasized Plenković.
He reiterated that a European Bosnia and Herzegovina is a key foreign policy priority for the Republic of Croatia, as is its accession to the EU and NATO alliance.
