Plenković: It is important that we open communication with all peoples in BiH

(Patria) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that the visit of SDA and HDZ leaders Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović to Zagreb this evening continues the dialogue on the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the position of Croats.

"We have a continuous dialogue with representatives of BiH and have been planning a meeting with Izetbegović for a long time. We think it is important to open communication with all peoples in BiH. Izetbegović is very influential in BiH, and especially as the leader of SDA and Deputy Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Plenković.

"With today's visit, we are continuing the dialogue on the future of BiH, the position of Croats, certain legal solutions, equality - and by that I mean the Election Law, which, as it is, leads to the subversion of the spirit and letter of the Dayton Paris Peace Agreement. Our position is clear - it is not good for situations to arise where Croats, as a constituent people, due to their smaller numbers, find themselves in a situation where they do not have their legitimate representatives in the highest institutions of power in BiH," the Croatian Prime Minister stated.

When asked by journalists whether this evening's meeting with SDA and HDZ leaders is actually a continuation of the meeting he recently had with BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, Plenković reiterated that they talk with all representatives in BiH.

"It is a close neighboring, friendly country to us, and if there is a topic on which we are all interested in making progress, then it is BiH," Plenković emphasized.
