(Patria) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković confirmed today in Mostar that a joint session of the Croatian Government and the Council of Ministers of BiH will be held on June 20 in Zagreb.
In his address, he emphasized that trade between Croatia and BiH in 2022 amounted to four billion euros and that Croatia is a strategic partner both politically and economically.
He added that his wish is for cooperation to benefit both sides and reminded that Croatia has so far invested 1.3 billion euros in the BiH economy.
"Croatia is determined to help BiH in the energy sector and therefore, in the context of the energy crisis, where we are all together faced with the need to diversify supply routes, we want to offer BiH additional strategic value that Croatia has secured by building a liquefied natural gas terminal on the island of Krk, whose capacity we will increase from 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas to 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas through additional investment," said the Croatian Prime Minister.
In this context, he stressed that Croatia is ready to invest in the Southern Gas Interconnection, through which Bosnia and Herzegovina would receive gas from Croatia.
"I believe that, in the long term, this is of strategic importance and I would like to do this in partnership with the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, but above all, in partnership with the institutions of BiH," Plenković said.
