Plenković and Zovko Look Forward to New Coalition That Will Ensure a 'Legitimate' Member of the BiH Presidency

(Patria) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković today expressed expectations from the new coalition in the FBiH, i.e., the state-level one that will be formed with the HDZ and the 'eight-party' alliance.

Croatian Parliament member Nevenko Barbarić asked Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković about the strategy of the Croatian Government for Croats outside that country over the next ten years, which he also assessed as a very important topic for BiH.

"Especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Croats are a constituent people, they should have their legitimate political representatives, which I believe happened when it comes to elections for parliaments or cantonal assemblies. What is important is that this situation occurs through new coalitions and new institutions of government when it comes to the member of the BiH Presidency, then we will round off that process. Our support is strong and long-lasting," said Plenković.

The same was said today by MEP Željana Zovko during the adoption of the report on the new strategy for the enlargement of the European Union, which also applies to the countries of the Western Balkans. She said that the new coalition will finally complete the amendments to the BiH Election Law.

Although the agreement that the 'eight-party' alliance reached with the HDZ mentions constitutional and electoral reform, so far no one has explained to the public what that specifically means, except that the public is already being prepared for the scenario of electing members of the BiH Presidency in the BiH Parliament.
