Plenković: Croatia supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and non-recognition of Crimea's annexation

Croatia will continue to support Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and will help it with its experiences in this regard and in the peaceful reintegration of its occupied territories, said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković today in Kyiv at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, reports Patria.

In a lecture on the topic "Croatia's European and Euro-Atlantic Experience – An Example for Ukraine?", Plenković said that Croatia and Ukraine have much in common and that the history of their friendship has deep roots.

He reiterated that the Republic of Croatia, as a member of the EU and NATO, gives full support to Ukraine on its European path.

"Croatia is fully committed to providing political and practical support to Ukraine on its path to the EU," he emphasized. "We are ready to share our knowledge and experience..."

He also pointed out that Ukraine was the first country, a member of the United Nations, to recognize Croatia's independence on December 11, 1991. As a token of gratitude, Zagreb named a street Ukrainian Street, and a monument to the poet Taras Shevchenko is located there.

He emphasized that both countries were victims of brutal military aggression and that their territorial integrity was violated by force, and therefore Croatia's experiences can be useful to Ukraine.

Croatia supports Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence, as well as the implementation of the policy of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea, said Plenković, writes Index.
