Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković claims that the competent services in that country did not know that arrests of former members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) in Orašje, who are suspected of war crimes, were being prepared, reports Patria.
He stated that otherwise he would have planned the content of the recent visit to BiH differently.
He also revealed that there are indications that there could be more similar arrests, and Croatia needs to resolve this issue with Bosnia and Herzegovina, he says.
Plenković also confirmed that the Croatian judiciary is taking legal action regarding members of the Army of BiH, but says that "this is not about retaliation, but about investigations that could become legal cases".
"With my statements, I do not want to influence the judiciary, but to improve judicial cooperation with the neighboring country. It is important that there is no selective approach in the processes, because persons of other nationalities were also mentioned earlier," said Plenković, reports Al Jazeera.
