Pacolli: Serbia is bribing in exchange for withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo

(Patria) - The Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs claims to have information that Belgrade is promising financial and arms aid in exchange for the withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo's independence.

"What I have learned is that some smaller and poorer countries have fallen for such promises," said Behgjet Pacolli, reports Pristina's Bota sot.

Pacolli stated this after the President of Palau, Tommy Remengesau, confirmed during his visit to Belgrade yesterday that his country has decided to suspend the decision on recognizing Kosovo's independence until the dialogue is concluded.

RTCG reminds that Palau is the 13th country in the world to withdraw recognition of Kosovo's independence, reducing the number of countries supporting Pristina's unilaterally withdrawn moves to below 100.

Previously, Madagascar, the Solomon Islands, Lesotho, Suriname, Grenada, Comoros, Burundi, Dominica, Sao Tome and Principe, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, and Papua New Guinea did so.

The Republic of Palau is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, 800 km southeast of the Philippines. It is one of the youngest and smallest countries in the world. It gained independence in 1994, after the termination of the mandate of the United Nations Trusteeship Council, which was exercised by the USA, writes Patria.
