The completely newly built Border Crossing Gorica, between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, was put into full operation today. In this way, the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH has completed the construction of another modern border crossing, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The new Gorica border crossing was built in accordance with all European Union standards to meet all necessary needs for the movement of passengers and goods, especially goods requiring phyto-sanitary inspection. The crossing has a total of five lanes, two for entry into BiH, two for exit, and one reversible lane (an additional lane to be opened in the direction where larger crowds appear).
The crossing is designed to have a section for passenger traffic and a section for freight vehicles. All inspection services necessary given the categorization of the border crossing and the permitted types of goods that can cross at this crossing are located at the terminal next to the border crossing itself. Construction of the new Gorica border crossing began in early December 2015, and the crossing was fully completed within six months. The construction of the new Gorica border crossing cost a total of 1.6 million KM.
