
Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Croatia Zlatko Hasanbegović discussed establishing better cultural cooperation between the two countries today in Sarajevo through concrete programs that would define support for certain projects, as well as cooperation between cultural institutions of the two countries, reports the Patria News Agency.
It was assessed that the existing Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Culture, Science and Sport from 2002 is a good basis, but that it is possible to do more in implementing concrete forms of cooperation.
-This visit is significant because we can discuss improving cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Croatia and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH. The experiences of Croatian experts in the field of intangible heritage protection, entrepreneurship in culture, and incentives in the film industry, where Croatia has made a certain breakthrough, are useful to us, said Minister Osmanović.
He emphasized successful regional cooperation in nominating stećci for inscription on the World Cultural Heritage List, and stated that he appreciates the significant assistance that Croatian experts can provide to the National Museum of BiH.
Croatian Minister of Culture Zlatko Hasanbegović expressed the readiness of the ministry he leads to more actively participate in cooperation programs and assist cultural institutions of BiH.
He particularly emphasized the importance of the National Museum, but also said that his country is ready for full cooperation in the field of culture, respecting the constitutional setup of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Hasanbegović emphasized that the Ministry of Culture of Croatia has so far allocated insufficient funds for the implementation of cooperation programs with cultural institutions from BiH, and that these amounts can be multiplied.
He particularly emphasized the possibility of scholarships for training scarce personnel in the field of restoration, and expressed his country's interest in joint appearances at international publishing fairs, it was announced from the relevant ministry.
