SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Court of Appeals in Belgrade has definitively acquitted Milan Dumanović and Mladen Trbović in the "Potočari" case.
The Serbian police officers were accused of revealing official secrets after they publicly spoke out in 2015 about the secret recording of the commemoration of the genocide committed in Srebrenica, when the then-Prime Minister, and now President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was attacked.
Dumanović and Trbović had previously spoken to Al Jazeera about the illegal presence of members of the Observation and Documentation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Serbia at the commemoration in Potočari.
The proceedings against them were closed to the public and lasted for almost six years.
The prosecution, during that period, failed to prove, as the court determined, that the accused police officers had caused damage to the MUP of Serbia by their actions, AJB reports.
