State of siege in Umag: Kidnapper abducted a woman and fled, police with long guns on the streets

(Patria) - On a section of the Istrian Ypsilon, as well as the wider Umag area, police officers with long guns were seen at checkpoints today, readers of Jutarnji list report.

As this Zagreb-based media outlet unofficially learns, police officers of the Istria Police Department are searching for a man who abducted a woman in the Umag area and then fled.

The individual is already on record for serious criminal offenses, so it is assumed they may resist, which is why intervention police forces have been deployed.

Attempts to locate the kidnapper via mobile phone signals have so far yielded no results, but an extensive search operation is underway.
