Gale-force winds have paralyzed parts of Croatia today - several highways, bridges are closed and ferries have been canceled, reports Jutarnji list, according to the Patria News Agency.
As the Zagreb daily specifies, due to gale-force winds, the A1 highway section between Sveti Rok and Posedarje is closed to traffic, the Maslenica - Zaton Obrovački state road is also closed, as is the Paški bridge.
Parts of the Rijeka - Zagreb highway and a part of the Adriatic highway, specifically between Novi Vinodolski and Sveta Marija Magdalena, are open only for passenger vehicles.
Snow is falling intermittently in Lika and Gorski Kotar, traffic is banned for certain categories of vehicles on the Krk Bridge, and some ferry and catamaran lines are interrupted due to bad weather conditions.
Landslides and rockfalls are possible, especially on sections through mountainous areas, so drivers are advised to adjust their speed and driving style to the road conditions.
There are no long waits at border crossings, and due to works in Slovenia, trucks over 3.5 tons are being redirected towards the Pasjak border crossing.
