Decision of the BiH Presidency for Cvijanović (non)binding, Dodik and Vučić decide on participation in the EU summit!

(Patria) – Although the Presidency of BiH at its first session in the new convocation on November 30 accepted the invitation to participate in the EU - Western Balkans Summit to be held on December 6, 2022 in Tirana, the Republic of Albania, and decided that the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would be led by the Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, the situation became complicated two days before the Summit.

After tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić first said he would not go to Tirana, and later that he would consult on Serbia's participation. Today, he was also invited by the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, stating that Serbia's presence is significant at the Summit where EU leaders will be. Earlier, the European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, who was in Belgrade on Friday, did the same.

Today, the President of SNSD and RS Milorad Dodik also spoke out, emphasizing that together with Vučić they will crystallize and make a joint decision on whether to go or not.

Dodik stated that if the President of Serbia does not attend this gathering, then the presence of Republika Srpska in Tirana will also be questionable.

“In BiH, the procedures regarding this are complex. It is known that BiH has a three-member Presidency, and if one member cannot go, then another goes, and that could pose a problem, but we will coordinate all of this with President Vučić,” Dodik said.

He emphasized that Republika Srpska and Serbia have aligned positions on many issues and that it is very important to undertake joint activities and measures.

It is devastating that the official decision of the BiH Presidency is being denied in this way and that the decision on anything related to the official participation of BiH is made by Dodik on behalf of one entity and the president of another country. Cvijanović should recall the text of the oath she took and the obligations she assumed as a member of the BiH Presidency.
