From May 8 to June 8, illegal weapons can be handed over to the Serbian Ministry of Interior without consequences

(Patria) - Professor of the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, Dr. Dejan Đurđević told RTS that one of the adopted measures, which will be published in the Official Gazette, stipulates that all citizens will be able to hand over illegal pieces of weapons and explosive devices to the Ministry of Interior from May 8 to June 8.

Members of the government adopted on Friday the measures previously announced by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, which were proposed after the crime in Mladenovac.

One of the measures that should lead to a reduction in the number of illegal weapons in the possession of Serbian citizens is the possibility to hand them over without consequences.

"If you bring illegal weapons by June 8, no one will ask you where you got them, you will not be held accountable for unauthorized possession and carrying, but if you do not use this opportunity, there will be draconian penalties – there will be no suspended sentences," said Professor Đurđević.
