BELGRADE, (Patria) - Dveri President Boško Obradović stated today in a press release why Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić "put Vojislav Šešelj on his payroll and gave him the title of favorite opposition member who is the only one allowed to appear on all regime media".
Obradović today drew public attention to an interview that the leader of the Radicals, Vojislav Šešelj, gave to Nedeljnik in 2014, in which, according to his assessment, Šešelj sent several important messages about what he knows about Aleksandar Vučić and what he is really like.
He specifies that this was Vojislav Šešelj's first interview with domestic media after returning from The Hague Tribunal, and it was a conversation for Nedeljnik on November 20, 2014, which, according to Obradović, took place in a temporal vacuum before the "godfathers agreed on everything".
"That was enough for Vučić to put him on his payroll, include him in the ruling regime, and give him the title of favorite opposition member who is the only one allowed to appear on all regime media," Obradović believes.
He states that the first message Šešelj sent to the public in this interview was that Aleksandar Vučić was involved in wiretapping even when he was in the SRS.
According to Šešelj's testimony, "Vučić acquired equipment for recording phone calls for 35,000 euros and listened to the phones of all party members... he wrote it down and brought it to me to read every time".
Obradović also recalls Šešelj's statements in which he warns that "if Vučić wiretapped his closest party colleagues using private listening devices while he was still in the opposition, imagine what he is doing now to the opposition and his own people when the entire state security service is at his disposal, plus modern private listening devices that he can afford and obtain," Obradović adds.
The second message Šešelj sent in this forgotten interview is that Vučić is prone to fabricating scandals for his closest associates through a network of journalistic connections, Obradović states.
"There is something manic about Vučić. He works like a machine, works non-stop. His phone is always in his hand, he switches between two or three phones, calls this person, calls that person, intervenes... Vučić also set up clips for Nikolić, releasing various things through the press – you know about Vučić's influence on journalists and his vast network of personal contacts...", Šešelj told Nedeljnik in 2014.
Šešelj warned at the time that Vučić "was always much more extreme than the party line..."
"At all our rallies, he had the most extreme speeches," Šešelj said at the time.
