HDZ BiH always keeps the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosnia on a lukewarm plate

A formal ceremony on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the formation of the para-state entity Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosnia will be held on Monday in Mostar at the Croatian Home Stjepan Kosača.

Croatian Media Service reminds that delegations will first lay a wreath at the Gorica Cemetery (Grude) for fallen HVO soldiers and in front of the Monument to Croatian Defenders in Mostar, after which a formal ceremony and book promotion will be held, featuring Jadranko Prlić's "Contributions to the History of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosnia".

Political analyst Muharem Cero believes that the marking of anniversaries of para-state entities cannot bring anything good to any nation in BiH, and that it most confuses the Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"So far, structures within the para-state institutions of the Croatian Community of Herceg-Bosnia have marked various anniversaries, but this time it has gone a step further by marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosnia," Cero told the Patria agency. When asked why HDZ insists on re-igniting inter-ethnic tensions in the country, in addition to accumulated economic problems, Cero believes it is an attempt to prove the constitutionality and continuity of HR HB, which is greatly detrimental to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Based on the experience of marking the January 9th holiday in the RS entity, although unconstitutional, this is also an attempt to maintain the alleged constitutionality and continuity of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosnia and to create, according to Karamatić and others, the promised re-examination of the Washington Agreement," Cero believes.

"It cannot go unnoticed that the commemoration in Mostar is happening before the upcoming announcement of the second-instance verdict of the Hague Tribunal in the case of Prlić and others," concludes Cero, adding that HDZ BiH is thus trying to send a message to the Hague Tribunal about what they think of the verdict and how it will be received if it is condemnatory, as was the case in the first-instance verdict.
