New mass protests in Belgrade: Against incitement of violence in public space

(Patria) - After two mass protests in recent weeks, triggered by two mass shootings in which 18 people were killed and 20 injured, the pro-European opposition in Serbia organized another large civil rally tonight against the incitement and tolerance of violence in public space.

According to local media, tens of thousands of citizens have gathered, causing traffic to be stopped.

MP of the movement "Ne davimo Beograd" (Don't let Belgrade drown) Radomir Lazović stated at the protest today that the participants will cross the Gazela bridge in a column tonight, and then make a loop over the Branko's bridge.

The gathered citizens chanted "Vučić, resign!". Also, by raising Serbian flags, the gathered citizens were united in their desire to dismiss the head of the BIA (Security Information Agency) Aleksandar Vulin and the Minister of Police Bratislav Gašić.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić told the opposition that there will be no "technical governments" and change of power on the streets, nor "violent shutdown" of media in Serbia, and linked the wave of protests in the country to "foreign services".

Brnabić assessed that "foreign services" are directly involved in everything that followed the two mass murders in Serbia.

"What is happening is directly the work of foreign services and direct destabilization of the Republic of Serbia," Brnabić told MPs. A part of the pro-European opposition that supports the civil unrest left the parliamentary session.
