German newspaper on the Salafi recruitment affair and statements by the Croatian president

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - News about the recruitment of Bosnian citizens by Croatian intelligence officers was also published by the portal of the renowned German newspaper Die Tageszeitung (Taz.de).

Taz.de states that the affair was uncovered by journalists, and within the scope of this scandal several people have already been questioned, including the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Mektić. The German newspaper also emphasizes that the entire case gained momentum after three people knocked on the doors of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Slovenia, wishing to give statements related to the recruitment case.

In an article titled "Weapons in Mosques," the German newspaper draws attention to the fact that in the past few months, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, has emphasized that "Bosnia and Herzegovina is the cradle of terrorism," noting that last year she stated there were 60,000 armed Salafists on Croatia's borders. 

The newspaper further states that behind these accusations lies a campaign by the Croatian government aimed at establishing a third entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"After the elections in October 2018, when Željko Komšić, the leader of the left-wing Democratic Front, was elected as the Croatian representative in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the HDZ, the Croatian nationalist party, called Komšić a representative of Bosniaks and said he does not represent Croats," Taz.de reports.
