Nikšić: I spoke with Izetbegović about the revision of the lawsuit against Serbia, not about SDA and SDP BiH relations

Nermin Nikšić, president of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, confirmed that he had a meeting on Wednesday with the president of SDA and member of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegović, writes Patria.

- The reason for our meeting was the procedure for revising and renewing BiH's lawsuit against Serbia, for violating the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide before the International Court of Justice in The Hague. This concerns strategic issues of the state of BiH, and we, in the SDP, have a very clear stance on this. It is a matter of justice for the victims, and all patriotic Bosnian forces need to unite around this. This is not a matter of any nation or any party. This is a matter for all those who were victims of the aggression against BiH.

Nikšić said that he proposed to Izetbegović that, in this regard, a meeting of representatives of all political, religious, academic, and non-governmental associations that cherish and defend the idea of a unified BiH, former officials of the wartime Presidency of the Republic of BiH and officials of the current Presidency, together with the legal team representing BiH, be organized in order to reach a common stance regarding the revision.

- I am pleased that Mr. Izetbegović accepted this idea, and I believe that such a gathering will be organized very soon. There was no talk of any political relations between SDA and SDP. The SDP remains in opposition to the government led by SDA, but the SDP will never be in opposition to the interests of the state of BiH - Nikšić stated.
