No wiretapping of Serbian politicians: Disciplinary proceedings against OSA BiH employee

OSA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against an employee of this agency who stole a secret agency document and forwarded it to other persons. The entire case has also been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has been confirmed by OSA BiH.

At the end of last year, a document appeared in the public about the alleged wiretapping of citizens and officials of Serbia by OSA BiH. The Vice-President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that he had received a document about wiretappings from OSA, which he later forwarded to other political officials in the country.

OSA later determined that there was no wiretapping and that everything was done in accordance with the law. OSA also announced that the employee who provided this document has been identified.

- Regarding the theft of an official OSA BiH document, the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting with the Agency's management, where they were presented with data on the Agency's operation whose document appeared in public.

The Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after carrying out activities within its jurisdiction, determined that OSA BiH acted in accordance with the law in relation to the mentioned operation.

Regarding the theft of a document from OSA BiH, marked with the secrecy level 'Secret', the Agency's Director General ordered an investigation to determine how the said document was stolen and thus allowed its appearance in public.

The Agency's Inspectorate, in accordance with the Director General's order and its legal powers, conducted an investigation and, based on the results, submitted an official report to the Director General. Based on this, the Director General of OSA BiH submitted an official report to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH against an employee of OSA BiH for the committed criminal offense under Article 164 (disclosure of secret data) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

Furthermore, the Director General initiated disciplinary proceedings against the same employee of the Agency, and suspended him until the proceedings are concluded, and at the same time initiated a procedure for additional verification as defined by Article 57 of the Law on Protection of Secret Data.

OSA BiH, in accordance with its legal powers, will fully contribute to law enforcement agencies and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, in order to fully shed light on the mentioned case, so that criminal prosecution can be carried out against all persons who have unauthorizedly copied and allowed unauthorized persons access to the mentioned document.

OSA BiH, in accordance with the Law on Protection of Secret Data and the Law on OSA/OBA BiH, will continue to cooperate with all bodies and institutions in BiH, as well as the Ministry of Security, on the prevention and obstruction of access to secret data by unauthorized persons - it was announced from OSA, reports Patria.
