After collision of passenger and freight train in Serbia, 52 people reported to hospital

(Patria) - In the village of Ratkovo in the municipality of Odžaci, a passenger and a freight train collided, and according to media information, there were no fatalities.

52 people reported to the hospital, RTS reports.

As stated, three people were kept for treatment, including the train driver.

The passenger train hit the freight train from behind at 18:47 on the Odžaci - Ratkovo railway section, "Serbian Railways Infrastructure" announced.

"The collision occurred when the passenger train caught up with the freight train composition and hit the last wagon of the freight train," the statement added.

As RTS learns, the passenger train derailed during the collision.

"Serbian Railways Infrastructure" states that both trains were traveling from Novi Sad towards Bogojevo.
