After the BiH anthem, the Croatian anthem was also sung at the Ceremonial Session of the Čapljina Municipal Council!

A ceremonial session of the Čapljina Municipal Council was held in the Mogorjelo cinema hall on Friday, on the occasion of the Municipality Day and the feast of Saint Francis. What marked the session was the playing of the anthems of two countries, first BiH, and then neighboring Croatia, reports the Patria agency.

Councilors from the Bosniak people were taken aback, but out of respect for the anthem of a country, they remained standing quietly. Nedžad Merdan, a councilor from SDP BiH, said that numerous questions went through his mind at that moment, and he will ask the mayor Smiljan Vidić a question at the next regular session of the Municipal Council.

- I will use my right to ask a councilor's question to answer me according to which legal act or rules of procedure of the Municipal Council is it permissible to play the anthem of another country in the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Is this a direct attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a desecration of its sovereignty and indivisibility - Merdan asks. 

Otherwise, the Čapljina Municipal Council consists of five Bosniaks, four from the SDA-SBB Club, and Merdan from SDP BiH. Merdan told Patria that the councilors could not ask questions at yesterday's session because that is the procedure for ceremonial sessions. He said that this is his first term as a councilor in the Čapljina Municipal Council, but that playing the Croatian anthem has been a common practice for years.

Merdan also stated that, in addition to the flag of BiH and the Municipality of Čapljina, the flag of so-called Herceg Bosna was also displayed.

Otherwise, among those present in the Mogorjelo hall were guests from all spheres of social life, representatives of executive and legislative authorities at all levels, cultural, sports, and religious life…

The presence of the FBiH Minister of Finance, Jelka Milićević, was particularly noted, whose actions, as stated during the session, have greatly benefited Čapljina.
