Quiet in northern Kosovo, no delays at Jarinje and Brnjak crossings

(Patria) - The situation in northern Kosovo is currently calm, with police blocking access to the municipal buildings of Zvečan, Zubin Potok and Leposavić with vehicles.

At the administrative crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak this morning there are no blockades, crowds or delays, and passenger and freight traffic is proceeding without problems, RTS reports.

There were crowds last night due to Kosovo citizens returning from Belgrade after the rally "Serbia of Hope".

The usual procedure is also underway for freight traffic, which was suspended yesterday because Kosovo police did not allow trucks to pass, citing security reasons.

In clashes with Kosovo police yesterday, several dozen people were injured while preventing the newly elected mayors of Zvečan, Leposavić and Zubin Potok from entering municipal buildings.

The intervention of Priština in northern Kosovo was condemned by the KFOR and EULEX missions. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as well as the US ambassadors in Belgrade and Priština, called on Kosovo authorities to immediately stop these actions.
