Hajduk defeated Istria 3-0 in the 30th round of the First Croatian Football League, and Torcida burned the flag of the former Socialist Republic of Croatia in the stands of the Poljud stadium during the match, reports the Patria News Agency.
The match was played on April 10, on the birthday of the criminal quisling pseudo-state called the Independent State of Croatia (NDH), but on that same date in 1991, the IXth Battalion HOS "Rafael vitez Boban" was founded in Split, a unit of the Croatian Army that fought in the Homeland War.
In Split, the anniversary of the founding of this unit was marked by a series of ceremonies, the honorary guest was the legendary Vukovar commander Mile Dedaković Jastreb, and HOS members also remembered the tragically deceased Torcida member Žan Ojdanić, lighting candles under his mural.
Torcida also marked the date at the Poljud stadium itself. First, a huge HOS flag was displayed, and then the flag of the Socialist Republic of Croatia was burned in the stands, writes Index.
