More than 100 museum professionals are participating in one of the largest museum conferences in the Balkans, held in Shkodër, Albania, from April 13 to 15, writes Patria.
The fourth Conference is organized by the Balkan Museum Network, which brings together more than 40 museum institutions from the Balkans, and the Foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB).
- The goal of the conference is to foster regional cooperation between museum professionals and heritage professionals from the Balkan region. The conference is a place for learning and knowledge exchange, and an excellent opportunity for strengthening partnerships. The 'Meet, See, Do' conference also highlights the important role of museums in our societies - stated Aida Vežić, Secretary General of the Balkan Museum Network.
Experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Great Britain have come to the conference in Albania.
The main speakers at the "Meet, See, Do" conference are David Anderson, Director of the National Museum of Wales (United Kingdom), Andreja Richter, Director of the Forum of Slovenian Cultures (Slovenia), and Diana Walters, an international consultant for museums and heritage (Sweden/United Kingdom).
Previous "Meet, See, Do" conferences were organized in Tirana, Sarajevo, and Novi Sad.
The Balkan Museum Network was established in 2006 with the aim of promoting and preserving the common heritage of the Balkans, writes Patria.
