SARAJEVO, (Patria) - As part of this year's Ramadan activities, the Sarajevo Muftiship is organising appropriate lectures by various Islamic scholars. Last night at the Istiklal Mosque in Sarajevo, a lecture was held by the President of the Islamic Community in Serbia, Mufti Mevlud Dudić.
On this occasion, we contacted the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and asked whether the bodies of the Islamic Community in BiH had granted permission for the arrival of the first man of Muslims in Serbia, to which we received the reply: “Mufti Dudić was a guest of the Sarajevo Muftiship and, as a high-ranking official of the Islamic Community, addressed the faithful with an appropriate sermon as part of the Ramadan activities.”
Regardless of whether a lower organisational level within the Islamic Community, such as the Muftiship, requires permission from higher bodies, the fact is that Mufti Dudić did not meet with Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, the leader of Muslims in Serbia as well.
The Constitution of the Islamic Community states: ‘The status of the muftiship within the structure of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina is defined by Articles 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 of the Constitution of the Islamic Community.
In Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, in addition to the representative body – the Assembly, muftiships are organised as religious and administrative-managerial bodies.
At the head of the Muftiship is the President of the Muftiship, who is elected through a prescribed procedure. The structure of the muftiship is regulated by the competent representative body – the Assembly’”.
Not so long ago, Dudić was at the epicentre of a major dispute due to his statements and attitude towards the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
Mufti Dudić once said in a show with SNS lawyer Đukić: “The President of Serbia has made quite a few good steps forward, and that is to be welcomed, especially regarding the 'Open Balkan', because if you ask me, it would mean a lot to me if I could travel privately around the region as a private entrepreneur without difficulties and problems.”
Besides praising the Open Balkan, which is unacceptable to pro-Bosnian forces and which many see as a continuation of the Serbian world policy, Dudić often thanked Vučić.
During Vučić's visit to Priboj in January last year, Dudić addressed the President of Serbia with the words: “The President of the state is like a wind at our back! Indeed, Mr. President, you have incurred some anger, because everything you promise, you deliver!".
The only question is whether the promise of “100 for one” will be fulfilled with a tool known as an AK47 or with umbrellas.
