(Patria) - Due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Gorski Kotar, a 47-year-old motorcyclist died at the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department announced today.
The accident occurred yesterday around 1:50 PM on the old road through Gorski Kotar near the Lučice junction, when the motorcyclist, a Croatian citizen, due to excessive speed and overtaking a column of vehicles on a sharp turn, crossed into the left lane and collided with a truck.
The motorcyclist was transported to KBC Rijeka, where he died.
Traffic on that road between Lučice and Sopače was closed in both directions until 3:10 PM, and was opened for all traffic at 3:20 PM.
