Mobile Teams for Registration in Ilijaš Municipality and Employment of 1000 Young People in Sarajevo Canton

The introduction of "Mobile Teams" for unemployed persons is the topic of today's meeting held in Ilijaš, which was attended by the Mayor of Ilijaš Municipality, Akif Fazlić, and Midhat Osmanbegović, Director of the Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton" Sarajevo, as well as employees of the Employment Bureau Ilijaš and the Department for Local Development of Ilijaš Municipality.

The goal of forming mobile teams, as emphasized at the meeting, is to register sick and unemployed persons living in rural areas of Ilijaš Municipality. Among other things, it was agreed at the meeting that the first mobile team would be dispatched to the field at the beginning of next month.

As Director Osmanbegović pointed out at the meeting, the "Mobile Team" project plans for employees of the Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton" Sarajevo to visit local communities during their field visits and enable unemployed persons who are sick and in need to register with the Service and fulfill their legal obligation of regular reporting to the bureau, through which they realize certain status issues.

Given that Ilijaš Municipality is one of the most dispersed municipalities in Sarajevo Canton, the management of the Service decided to launch the project from Ilijaš, and in the coming period, it is planned to expand it to all municipalities in Sarajevo Canton.

- The "Mobile Team" program will cover remote and dispersed parts of the municipalities in Sarajevo Canton. Unemployed persons who are sick, have mobility issues, as well as households with multiple unemployed persons, will have the opportunity to register in their local community. "This way of working will make it easier for unemployed persons to register, and will eliminate the current practice of paying bus fare and waiting in lines," said Midhat Osmanbegović, Director of the Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton" Sarajevo.

Akif Fazlić, Mayor of Ilijaš Municipality, is also enthusiastic about the new project, stating:

- It is good that institutions are getting closer to citizens and that they can realize their rights more easily and quickly. The program is designed to enable citizens registered with the employment bureau to have faster and simpler communication with the Service employees. In addition to communication, unemployed persons will be able to register regularly, as well as obtain certificates to regulate their status. Everyone in Ilijaš Municipality supports all government and non-governmental projects, especially those implemented by the Department for Local Development of Ilijaš Municipality, which has established cooperation with the Service.

The Public Institution "Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton" Sarajevo plans to soon implement a Program for the employment of 300 persons gaining work experience for the first time, and it is very likely that, thanks to the Service, 1000 young unemployed persons will get a chance to start their first job by the end of the year.

"A Program for the engagement of 150 young unemployed persons for one year as assistants at the faculties of the University of Sarajevo is also in preparation. This project will relieve the University's funds, which are always limited, and will significantly help the university community, which is one of the most important drivers of societal development," said Director Osmanbegović at the end of the meeting.
