IMF Confirms: We are coming to Belgrade on June 9

The International Monetary Fund mission led by James Roaf is coming to Belgrade on June 9, writes Tanjug, reports the Patria News Agency.

Technical discussions between Serbia and the IMF will then begin, as planned, while official talks will start on Monday, June 13, with a meeting at the National Bank of Serbia.

The mandate holder for the composition of the new government, Aleksandar Vučić, jokingly stated yesterday that he literally doesn't sleep because of the IMF's arrival and the issues that will arise from it.

The IMF mission was in Serbia at the end of February, when talks began on the fourth review of the three-year program that Serbia concluded with the institution.

The review was not concluded, and the IMF's Resident Representative in Belgrade, Deheng Kim, told Tanjug that an assessment would be given during the IMF delegation's next visit, which will follow the elections.

The IMF's practice before elections varies, but it is not uncommon to postpone the completion of a review due to elections, Kim explained to Tanjug.

According to him, the technical government will take over management after the elections, but, he reminded, it is limited in its authority to adopt new measures.

Serbia concluded a three-year stand-by arrangement from precaution, worth around 1.2 billion euros, with the IMF in February 2015.
