Mitrović and Radončić discussed with the Croatian Ambassador to BiH

(Patria) - Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Vojin Mitrović and Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fahrudin Radončić, due to the need to reduce traffic jams at BiH borders and speed up the transport of trucks and goods, held a meeting today in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Sabolić.

They discussed ways to speed up the transport of goods, as large traffic jams had formed at the border crossings open for international transport in recent days, and a particular problem are kilometer-long queues of trucks in Gradiška waiting to enter Croatia, which are disrupting the lives of the local population.

At the meeting, it was agreed to organize meetings of operational teams of all competent services of BiH and Croatia at the Šamac, Gradiška, and Bijača border crossings, in order to agree on working methods and speed up the passage of trucks and the transport of goods.

Furthermore, the need was pointed out to direct trucks going only to Croatia to other open border crossings, not just the three mentioned, so as not to create congestion at the crossings open for international transport. It is expected that working groups will be formed for each border crossing separately, and they will consist of representatives of border police, customs, and phyto and veterinary services from both countries.

On this occasion, they also discussed the so-called EU green corridor for the transport of goods, which also passes through our country, and how BiH can participate as effectively as possible in this strategically important decision.
