Miščević: Serbia could open three more chapters

Serbia could open three more chapters in negotiations with the European Union at the next intergovernmental conference and close one simultaneously, said the head of the negotiating team with the EU, Tanja Miščević, Tanjug reports, Patria conveys.

Miščević told reporters, ahead of the conference "Croatia – Our Neighbour", that Serbia, in addition to Chapter 26, has sent two more negotiating chapters to Brussels – 20, concerning industrial policy and entrepreneurship, and 29, customs union.

- The Serbian government is very keen on good relations with Croatia, said the head of the negotiating team Tanja Miščević today, but also emphasized that the negotiations on Serbia's EU membership must not be a space for resolving bilateral disputes between the two countries.

She also said that she expects Croatia's help, not only in opening chapters, but much more dialogue, which has been lacking so far, and states that the technical talks between Croatia and Serbia were slowed down by last year's elections in both countries, and that there were not so many direct contacts, according to Tanjug's report.
