Peaceful protests by residents of Kosova and Alići in front of Maglaj Municipality, mayor seeks help from FBiH Government

This morning from 7 AM, about 30 families are gathered in front of the Maglaj Municipality building, whose housing issues have still not been resolved after the floods that devastated this city and surrounding settlements in May 2014, confirmed the mayor of Maglaj, Mehmed Mustabašić, for the Patria news agency.

- Since this morning, I have been trying to establish contact with Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and his associates for this area. On May 5th, I was at the FBiH Government for a meeting with the Prime Minister and representatives of the Fund for Assistance to Flood-Affected Areas, and it was agreed that the Government would pay financial compensation to those affected during the month of May - says the mayor.

Mustabašić stated that these are funds for 17 houses, 11 apartments, and 3 prefabricated houses, and the citizens of Kosova and Alići, who gathered peacefully, want what is rightfully theirs.

Mustabašić said that if this problem is not resolved soon, there is a possibility that the residents will block the main road M17 Maglaj-Doboj.
