Montenegrin Minister of Tourism apologizes to Agović family for unpleasantness on Bar beach

(Patria) - Minister of Economic Development and Tourism of Montenegro Goran Đurović apologized to the Agović family for the unpleasantness experienced in Bar.

“Our coast is big enough to accept everyone and there is no room for such outbursts,” he said on Twitter.

He also commented on the statement of the Reis of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, who said, among other things, that “perhaps in the “liberated” Montenegro it is legal to hate Muslims”.

“Respected Reis, of course, such an act deserves condemnation because everyone's rights must be respected. Respected Reis, if you had inquired a little better, you would know that this gentleman was never a fan of the “liberators” but a fan of DPS, and therefore I think your criticism is out of place. Bar is a city of three religions,” Đurović states.

An unpleasant situation occurred on Utjeha beach in Bar on Saturday when the owner of the establishment, Dragan Đurović, drove away minor I.A. from the beach simply because she was dressed in a burkini, a swimsuit for Muslim women with a hijab. The girl's father, Selvedin Agović, reported the incident to the Bar police, but the prosecutor's office sees no criminal offense in this case.
