Minister Rašić confirmed: No response to police request for surrender of attackers

(Patria) - Minister for Communities and Returns in the Government of Kosovo Nenad Rašić stated for "Nova.rs" that two attackers were killed near the village of Banjska in Zvečan, while one was wounded. He also said that another attacker was arrested. Some time later, the Kosovo police announced that three attackers were killed, while four of their accomplices were arrested in Rudare.

Rašić said he has no information on whether members of the criminal group will surrender.

Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku lost his life in an attack near the village of Banjska on Sunday morning, while two other police officers were wounded.

“The situation is dramatic. I spoke with Minister Xhelal Sveçla earlier. The police sent a request for surrender this morning, but there is no communication or contact between the two sides. The police are calling out to the attackers via megaphone, but there is no response from the other side. The situation around the monastery in the village of Banjska remains dramatic, there are no signs that it will calm down soon,” said Rašić.

The attackers entered the courtyard of the monastery in the village of Banjska, and the police surrounded them.
