Munich: Among the nine victims are three Turks, three Kosovar Albanians, and one Greek

Nine people, mostly young, lost their lives in yesterday's shooting in the center of Munich. Eight victims were between 14 and 20 years old, the ninth was a 45-year-old woman.

The Kosovar Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that among the victims were three young Kosovar Albanians. Official Ankara also says that among the victims are three Turks, while the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs speaks of one Greek victim. 26 people were injured, 16 were hospitalized, three of whom are in serious condition, writes Deutsche Welle.

- Another lifeless body was found near the shopping center, and it was confirmed during the night that it was the attacker, an 18-year-old German of Iranian descent, who was born and lived in Munich and had not been known to the police until then. The police opened fire on him, but the young man most likely took his own life. The autopsy will reveal the details.

- There are no indications that the perpetrator was connected to terrorist groups, nor that he acted politically, it was announced on Saturday at the midday press conference of the police and the state prosecutor's office. Documents and books dedicated to mass murders were found in the teenager's apartment.

It was also announced about the German-Iranian teenager that he had been undergoing psychiatric treatment for depression. He was armed with an illegal nine-millimeter Glock pistol and equipped with 300 rounds of ammunition.

State authorities have not yet revealed how the weapon was acquired, reports Patria.
