(Patria) - Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović congratulated September 28, the international Day of Bosniaks, expressing respect for the Bosniak people and this holiday.
Milatović said that this day is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the values that the Bosniak people, as he said, with their uniqueness and rich heritage, have selflessly woven into the treasury of the Montenegrin state.
"Building a civic and multi-ethnic common house, our Montenegro, on the historical crossroads of the Balkans, is neither easy nor simple.
In the time behind us, the Bosniak people have made an invaluable contribution to this process, nurturing tolerance and coexistence.
We should not forget our numerous Bosniaks in the diaspora who, all over the world, carry Montenegro in their hearts and have provided reliable support for the economic improvement of our country for decades.
I wish that the time ahead of us is marked by joint endeavors through which we will make our common house - Montenegro - richer and more just.
In me, the Bosniak people have a reliable ally in preserving and nurturing their national distinctiveness, in their efforts to further affirm their own tradition and culture, and in realizing their political and other rightful rights," added Milatović.
