Milanović will no longer run for SDP leader

Zoran Milanović, head of SDP Croatia, announced at today's press conference that he will no longer run for party president and expects internal elections to be held within 150 days, writes Patria.

Milanović said that after the early elections, he wants a stable government to be formed as soon as possible, but that there will be nothing from a coalition with HDZ. HDZ won seven more mandates than SDP.

Milanović thanked everyone for their support, although he pointed out that the number of voters had decreased.

- Voter turnout in the parliamentary elections was poor, and citizens are not to blame for that, but we are. That ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the competition, and that is a fact that does not require much deliberation - Milanović concluded.
