Milanović: BiH Constitution will not be changed while I am politically alive, Strasbourg rulings are 'idiotic'

(Patria) - Croatian President Zoran Milanović commented on the speech of the BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić at the UN.

"It was a private speech, Komšić does not speak on behalf of the state or all citizens. What he said at the UN is bad because these are statements that cause terrible associations among the uninformed, and there are many of them. Among other things, he compared Plenković to Putin for not recognizing the idiotic ruling of the Strasbourg court. Those judges are playing peacemakers, they used to have a certain function, but what they are doing now, especially with BiH, is a coordinated action between Komšić and like-minded people from the international community. The rulings are idiotic and dangerous because they attempt to change the Dayton Peace Agreement through rulings. That is impossible. That is a path to conflict," said Milanović.

Reminding of earlier rulings of that court, Milanović warned that the rights of the three constituent peoples in BiH are now being compromised by the new ruling.

"An agreement between the three peoples ended the war, and we should stick to that if we don't want something similar to happen again, instead of engaging in sabotage with the aim of pushing someone into the BiH Presidency and robbing an entire constituent people. This is an attempt to force Bosnia and Herzegovina to change its Constitution – that is impossible and there is no majority for it. The Strasbourg court, in coordination with Komšić and parts of Brussels, is pressuring the constituent peoples in BiH to change the Constitution they fought for with blood. This will never pass as long as I am politically alive," Milanović stated, adding that he hopes "this Government or the one that comes after the new elections will also act in this way."
