Milanović again on Željko Komšić, but also on the border agreement between Croatia and BiH

(Patria) - Croatian President Zoran Milanović, after a meeting with BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, said he does not consider Milorad Dodik a security threat nor does he have the conditions for that.

"We can talk about how much of a threat Dodik is. Money is needed. There was an agreement with him regarding Derventa, but something else happened. However, that does not represent a security threat but rather irresponsibility. But we must seek interlocutors. Where should I look for them in Moldova? There are no Bosnian Serbs there. He is an interlocutor. I presented a whole series of data related to that Derventa issue, which shows that the conversation must be more serious. They did not physically threaten me; they guarded me almost like the Croatian service," said Milanović.

Milanović again spoke about Željko Komšić and emphasized that the way he was elected is problematic.

"That is already a perversion. There was no understanding, will, or interest to change that. It concerns fundamental rights. And that can be changed. If anyone has doubts about our intentions to have some draft of a Načertanije, the question of the Presidency member is a measure of how much it bothers Croats, because when that stops being a topic, that silence will worry me. Croats want to be represented in a dignified manner. I, who spoke at rallies of Željko Komšić, with a warning that this is a transitional stage for that type of election and that things must be brought to a point where you cannot be a representative of the Croatian people if Croats do not vote for you, and they do not vote," said Milanović.

Bećirović said that no BiH ambassador has the right to make statements contrary to Dayton.

"BiH is not some composite state; it was not created in 1995, but the Constitution states that it continues its legal continuity from the previously recognized Republic of BiH," stated Bećirović.

He added that all open issues should be discussed and that some of them will be topics of the joint session of the BiH Council of Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on June 20.

"Dialogue has no alternative; we are interested in seeing what is happening with the ratification of the border agreement, Annex G, and the regulation of property-legal issues; the succession agreement has been ratified," said Bećirović.

Milanović said that the border agreement between Croatia and BiH has certain ambiguities.

"You always have to weigh between two unpleasant decisions. It is never to your liking in international agreements. I call on the Croatian authorities to look at that agreement and say whether it stands or not," said Milanović.
