Milanović supports Dodik: Calls Schmidt not to have a UN Security Council mandate, and BiH a colony

(Patria) - Croatian President Zoran Milanović, commenting on the indictment against Milorad Dodik in BiH today, said that the international community's high representative in BiH uses his powers to protect himself, and when those same powers are needed to protect the rights of one people in that country - then he is not available.

"He changes laws as he pleases, he changes the criminal code as he pleases, and where was he a year ago when with those same powers he could have changed the BiH Election Law... without violating the Dayton Constitution, and prevented Bosniaks from electing the Croatian member of the Presidency. He did not do that, but to protect his own skin and his reputation, he changed the criminal code according to which what Dodik did is a criminal offense. That is called colonial administration and it is destroying that country," Milanović told reporters before the start of the Marathon of Barges in Metković.

Dodik ignored the high representative's decision and on July 7 signed the decree on the entry into force of the law on the non-enforcement of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, and was indicted for non-enforcement of the high representative's decisions.

Milanović said of Schmidt that he is a "retired German politician who left an insignificant mark, that he was installed as a colonial administrator in BiH by someone, he does not have a mandate from the Security Council" (UN) and that behind his actions are some embassies in that country, citing the American one.

Milanović said that Dodik called him on Friday to inform him about the indictment.

"Is this a way to calm the situation in BiH, de-escalate?" Milanović asked, adding that he will continue to call on "all factors in this region, Croats, Serbs, Bosniaks, to talk without these colonial administrators".

The Croatian president said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a "clumsily, sloppily, ineptly led colony on which a handful of third-rate bureaucrats are venting their frustrations" who can invent new criminal offenses, but "when they need to do something completely banal like protecting the Croatian people in BiH and preventing the deviation where someone else can elect your representative - then their daughter is getting married or their cow is calving, then they are not available".

"That's what I'm talking about," Milanović concluded.
