(Patria) - After Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković revealed on Thursday that he and members of the Government had received threats, leading to the intervention of police in front of the Banski dvori, the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, commented on the case via Facebook, calling on Plenković to ‘stop harassing Croatian citizens’.
“The Prime Minister, for the second day in a row, is alarming the Croatian public with information about threats against him.
It’s not just him who is being threatened, but only he is making a media show out of it, seemingly inspired by the immediate eastern neighborhood.
I call on him to stop harassing Croatian citizens with stories about his endangerment, because the job he chose, leading the Government, requires a little more personal courage and confidence in the institutions of the Croatian state.
And since he rhetorically asks himself - ‘wouldn’t it be best to keep quiet’?, the answer is - yes, keep quiet about it.
And let the people responsible for security in Croatia do their job, without the flashing of spotlights from a private directorial booth. A little more measure and taste wouldn’t hurt,” Milanović wrote.
