Milanović: Change of the Dayton Agreement is not possible

(Patria)- Newly elected Croatian President Zoran Milanović said that a change of the Dayton Peace Agreement is not possible.

"That is impossible, such an agreement can be compared to border treaties and cannot be terminated through normal procedures. You would have to gather all parties again, and that is impossible," Milanović said for Nova TV, commenting on media reports that he and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would initiate changes to the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Answering the question whether the talks with the Turkish president were courteous or involved some political agreements, Milanović stated that Turkey has interests here, that they will talk, and that is all.

"The talks were not courteous. Obviously, there are Turkish interests that are completely clear and expected to me," Milanović emphasized.

Croatian "Nacional" reported that in a telephone conversation between Milanović and Erdogan a day after the election victory, the need to analyze the Dayton Peace Agreement and its impact on current events in Bosnia and Herzegovina was reconsidered.
