Mektić: We have increased border security, the Zavetnici group from Belgrade will not be allowed to enter BiH

Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić, guest on Centralni dnevnik with Senad Hadžifejzović, stated that information was received from Interpol Serbia about the possible arrival of the radical political group Zavetnici from Belgrade for a counter-rally in Banja Luka, organized by the president of SNSD and RS Milorad Dodik as a response to the opposition gathering led by the Alliance for Changes, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The opposition gathering starts at 12 PM in Mladen Stojanović Park, while the government rally will begin at 1 PM at Krajina Square.

Minister Mektić said that a group of about 50 Zavetnici members could depart from Belgrade towards Banja Luka early on Saturday morning, and the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs has also been informed.

- I have instructed the BiH Border Police to enhance security measures at our borders. If this group appears at the border anywhere, they will not enter BiH - Mektić stated, adding that he will not allow this group to enter BiH, nor is there any need for them to make the journey.

- They intend to provoke conflicts - Mektić said.

When asked how it is possible that two rallies are allowed at the same time, which carries a certain danger, Mektić precisely stated that the RS Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Lukač was not professional but succumbed to the political decision of Milorad Dodik and pressure.

Zavetnici state on their official page that "RS is the new target of Western centers that are ready to invest more resources in its abolition than in the breakup of Yugoslavia."

Otherwise, as announced by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, 2,000 police officers will be responsible for security, but Lukač said that if they are attacked, they will retaliate. There is a real possibility of riots breaking out in Banja Luka during the protests and counter-protests.
