There is no official information yet on the number of arrested persons following the riots at yesterday's Czech Republic vs. Croatia match in St. Etienne, but French police have started their work, writes Index.hr.
Croatian police official Krunoslav Borovec confirmed that Croatian police on the ground in France have identified some of the rioters from the stadium and forwarded the information to their French colleagues. Some of the rioters have been arrested, and others are being sought.
Croatian police do not have arrest powers, but the French are handling that task.
Borovec also stated that information about those who participated in the riots will be provided to all border crossings.
Although the information is not yet confirmed, there is a high probability that some of the rioters who caused disturbances in the stands come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically from western Herzegovina. Such information will only be known after the police release the identities of the arrested, or after they issue arrest warrants for them, writes Patria.
The security commissioner of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), Miroslav Marković, stated after the match that the HNS had received a tip that there would be a flare display in the 85th minute of the match. Some of the fans who participated in the riots immediately fled.
Numerous materials, recordings, and photographs from social networks related to the events at the stadium in St. Etienne were provided to the police yesterday, Borovec added, reports NAP.
