The Consulate of Serbia in Istanbul confirmed that a fan of the Serbian team was killed in Istanbul, writes the Serbian Telegraf, reports the Patria News Agency.
Serbian Consul Zoran Marković told Beta that this event is tragic and that he is shaken.
- We are now working to ensure that all fans leave the territory of Turkey safely as soon as possible. The murdered fan sustained severe stab wounds and was immediately transported to the hospital. I want to emphasize that the Turkish doctors fought like lions for his life. The resuscitation lasted for five hours, but he eventually died due to heavy bleeding – Marković said.
Red Star fan Marko Ivković (25) died in Istanbul from the consequences of a stab wound. The unfortunate young man traveled to Turkey for his team's match against Galatasaray, and after being stabbed by Turkish hooligans, he lost his life, reports NAP.
