Mandić: By Thursday, it will be known in which direction Montenegro will move

(Patria) - One of the leaders of the For the Future of Montenegro coalition and president of the New Serbian Democracy, Andrija Mandić, told TV Pink that by Thursday, when the constitutive session of the parliament is held, it will be known in which direction Montenegro will move, adding that the parliamentary majority will be defined then.

Mandić believes that the government should be formed by those who won on August 30, 2020, and added that they are ready to join it.

“On Thursday, we have the constitutive session of the Assembly, and within a month, the President of Montenegro must give a mandate to someone to form a government. The mandate holder will have three months to form a government; these are the time limits that await us,” he said.

Mandić reminds that they have started discussions.

“We have accepted certain proposed principles, and they are holding talks with other parties, with minorities. It is worth mentioning that representatives of minority parties were previously part of the coalition with DPS,” Mandić pointed out.

In his opinion, the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has put forward a good idea – to gather a larger number of parties and get a government with broad support.

“We must have a government that will not be unstable like the governments of Zdravko Krivokapić and Dritan Abazović. We would like the government to have the broadest support, which means including everyone. We fought against Milo Đukanović, and we had several offers to join his government, but we refused because we knew that the regime was criminalized and needed to go. After wandering, it is now necessary to correct irregularities; there are sufficient grounds to find common ground and have a government that everyone is satisfied with,” Mandić concluded.
