Mandatar Vučić: I don't have the government composition yet, it might be formed after June 16

Mandatar for the composition of the Serbian Government, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that he still does not have the government composition, that it might be formed after June 16, but that the goal is certainly to form the best possible government, Serbian media report, Patria transmits.

Vučić told reporters in parliament that he will talk again with representatives of all parties, except for those with whom no talks have been held so far.

- I don't have the government composition, I said earlier that I hope it will be by June 16, I still hope so, but it is possible that it will be later. It will certainly be within the legal deadline and I will try to form the best possible government, said Vučić.

He emphasized that the goal is certainly not to do the job poorly.

- As for the doubts, I have one more. Let that remain for my associates.

He stated that he will talk with minority parties today, with representatives of his party on Thursday and Friday, and that he will make decisions after that.

- Talks were good, open, I heard many ideas

The leader of the SNS stated that the talks about the government were good, open, that he spoke with people of different political views and orientations and was able to hear various ideas and proposals, some of which he will accept.

Vučić told reporters in parliament, after the round of consultations on the government, that the talks with SPS and JS were good and open, that their goals largely coincide and that the continuation of talks in the coming period has been agreed upon.

- I will consider some of them, accept some, not others, some I will include in the exposé, which is the government's program, said Vučić.

He also said that the conversation with the leader of the radicals, Vojislav Šešelj, was polite and decent. He conveyed that Šešelj presented some of his ideas, that he is ready for cooperation if the government renounces the European path, and that he replied that the European path of Serbia is one of the points of the new government's program. Vučić added that they exchanged views and opinions on all other matters and that he considers it useful.

Vučić said that he had the shortest conversation with the Dveri movement and that he would not comment on it.

- When someone doesn't even come to talk, and then comes out and says 'teacher, Perica told me this and that', let them cry and whine, I told the truth as always, and I told them the truth to their faces. I am not fascinated by someone's media pressure, I am not afraid of anyone and I tell everyone to their face what I think, said Vučić.

He assessed the talks with LSV and LDP as very substantive, where, as he said, they discussed the future of the province and Serbia, what needs to be changed, and that he received several good advice which he accepts and heard concerns on certain issues.

He called the consultations with the representatives of the Dveri movement correct, although they differ, and said that he received their specific proposals, and that they discussed birth rate policy and what needs to change.

- Because only Serbia with a higher birth rate can be economically competitive. We discussed economic growth, I am satisfied with the discussion, even though we do not share views on certain issues, said the mandatar.

He emphasized that he spoke about what he thinks is most important for Serbia, which is, in his opinion, its future, and that this is the policy of an independent and sovereign country.

- We will protect the independence and sovereignty of Serbia, but we will also protect everything we have successfully done so far, which is laying good economic foundations, we will continue to reduce the deficit. This year we will have a growth of 2.5 percent, and if it is a good year, if we don't have problems with drought, it could go up to 2.7 percent, that we will deal with healthcare, education, reforms in agriculture are needed, emphasized Vučić.

He also stated that "it has become part of our mentality to whine and complain and that we must change that", and that more work must be done "in order to cherish the results".

- I believe that with joint and diligent work, Serbia can be one of the most successful countries in this part of Europe and at the European level, where it can be among the top five in economic growth, stated Vučić, Serbian media report.
