Macedonia closer to EU and NATO

(Patria) - Just three days after the Greek Parliament ratified the Tsipras-Zaev agreement on the name of North Macedonia, NATO approved the accession protocol for North Macedonia. This opens the door for this country's membership in NATO and the EU.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg sent the mandatory circular accession protocol for North Macedonia to the Alliance's ambassadors in Brussels. Greece promised to be the first country to sign the protocol, paving the way for membership in the Alliance. North Macedonia thus becomes the 30th member of the Alliance.

This is another victory for peace in the region of Southern Europe, which is becoming a safer place to live every day.
