Magazinović sends letter to Grabar-Kitarović: Are the lives of tourists in Croatia potentially endangered?

(Patria) - SDP representative in the BiH Parliament Saša Magazinović has sent a letter to Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

We transmit the letter in full:

"Dear President of the Republic of Croatia, Mrs. Grabar-Kitarović,

I know we will agree that human life is priceless and that, among other things, it is our duty to work on the safety of the citizens of our states and protect them from any potential danger they may be exposed to. I believe we agree that there are no less or more important people and that every human life is equally important.

Why am I emphasizing this? The reason is your periodic pointing out, by you and your associates, of the danger posed by a large number of persons with radical rhetoric and intentions living in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this context, a number of as many as 10,000 such persons is mentioned, who could potentially act hostilely towards the Republic of Croatia as well. Regardless of the fact that security agencies in BiH have refuted these claims, and political officials have pointed out the economic, political and other damage such assertions cause to Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is not known to the public that your position has changed.

The concern caused by such messages from you and your associates is known to you, as is known how much concern among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina was caused by the latest affair, where SOA officers subordinate to you conducted intelligence activities that are an illustration of anything but good-neighborly and friendly relations between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If you have changed your position on this issue, it would be fair to inform us of that, along with an apology. If you still stand by the position about a truly large number of radically oriented individuals in BiH who are also hostilely disposed towards the state you lead, then we must act together to prevent anything bad from happening on the territory of your state, with which Bosnia and Herzegovina shares a border longer than 1,000 kilometers. I believe you are aware of how porous that border is and how relatively easy it is to cross from one country to another without control.

This is also known to members of the security agencies of the Republic of Croatia, who were transferring migrants into Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby partially solving the migrant crisis in Croatia, about which BiH security agencies have evidence.

Since the summer tourist season is approaching, and according to your words, in the immediate vicinity of the Adriatic coast there is a huge number of persons with radical rhetoric and intentions, I invite you to consider what is the most effective way to warn tourists who intend to spend their summer vacation in Croatia this year. I am sure there is a will among influential individuals, as well as institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to provide you and the institutions of the Republic of Croatia with assistance in a campaign to inform European and other tourists about the potential danger they expose themselves to by coming on vacation to Croatia, which you yourself have warned about.

Dear President,

I know we agree that human life is priceless. In our country, it is said that whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved the entire world. Therefore, I invite you to jointly lead activities in the fight against all forms of radicalism, chauvinism, hatred, nationalism, fascism and other socially dangerous phenomena that can result in the most severe consequences, and until we win that fight, it is fair to inform as many potential tourists as possible that by choosing the Croatian coast as their vacation destination, they are potentially risking their lives.

With the wish that our region in the future be freed from all kinds of radicals, I cordially greet you."
