Magazinović and Makraduli: BiH and Macedonia will not allow connection with Serbia and Kosovo agreements

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - MP and member of the SDP Club in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Saša Magazinović, met today in Sarajevo with the Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Jani Makraduli.

Discussing current developments in the region, Magazinović and Makraduli agreed that any agreement on the border between Serbia and Kosovo cannot and must not be linked in any way to any other country in the region, especially not to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. 

Magazinović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an internationally recognized state, a UN member with inviolable borders and territorial integrity, and that any connection or drawing of parallels in this case is malicious and represents a dangerous announcement of territorial aspirations, which will be prevented by all means. 

The interlocutors agreed that our region needs a period of stability and good relations in order to improve economic conditions and stop the emigration of the population. Without political stability, it was said today, there are no foreign or domestic investments, and without fulfilling this prerequisite, there can be no talk of growth and development. 

Makraduli informed Magazinović about the political situation in Macedonia, which is marked by the start of the campaign for the referendum for a European Macedonia. On that occasion, he expressed positive expectations regarding the referendum and the realization of the long-held dream of the citizens of Macedonia regarding membership in the EU and NATO.

They also discussed the activities of the ministry he heads, particularly emphasizing the activities undertaken to mitigate the effects of climate change. 

Magazinović informed his interlocutor about the work of the newly formed Green Club, founded by a group of MPs from all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Green Club, Magazinović added, will continue to work on strengthening public dialogue in the field of energy, issues related to renewable energy sources, climate change, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.

He emphasized that this club, composed of MPs from different parties, both from the ruling and opposition sides, is a good example of cooperation on concrete issues that are in the general interest of society, and expressed hope that it will continue to operate just as successfully in the future.
